Smart Region concept aims to promote and implement innovative and intelligent technologies in the areas s of transport, energy and construction in line with sustainable development and overall life quality improvement, creating thus a live Smart Region Concept based on the Smart Cities principle. The concept focused on technological factors of the transition to Smart Region and Smart Cities. Emphasis was placed in particular on  the proposal of initiatives and projects. The Moravian-Silesian Region is expected to have educational, methodical and integrative roles in the entire system.
