As an energy efficiency financing facility in Slovakia, EBRD opened a credit line of EUR 90 M to promote energy efficiency in Slovak municipalities – MunSEFF (Municipal Sustainable Energy Finance Facility). Through Slovak banks, MunSEFF Programme financed energy efficiency of buildings, infrastructure and renewable energy projects. The credit line was based on a comprehensive package of technical assistance in the form of energy consultancy when applying  for a loan, and  an educational programme for banks when investing in sustainable energy projects. In the course of  MunSEFF Programme, in total 403 projects were financed including 114 projects for increasing energy efficiency in municipal buildings, 219  residential building projects and 70  municipal infrastructure projects.
